It was like a drama on Friday 9th March at moot court, ESUT Agbani as the Parliament rejected the nature in which the executive presented the 2018 budget of the Union.
It all began when some of the executive forgot to bow before the maze when entering the venue of the session.
The Secretary General of the executive was stopped when presenting the budget by the Parliament for not making copies of the budget available for senators to read and study for deliberations.
The president of the Union Comr. Moses Anichebe pleaded they should be given five minutes to make more copies, after five minutes the executive returned, now with more copies of the budget.
The Secretary General came back again to continue the presentation but was stopped once again for second time, this time not because of the need for more copies of the budget but to make way for the president to take position and do the presentation.
After presenting the budget by the president comr. Moses Anichebe, the budget which constituted at 9,400,000 million was rejected by the Parliament citing the nature of its write up and described it as ” unlawful ” and an “insult” to the honourable house.
A motion was moved by Sen. Aighebhoria Osagie from Computer Engineering calling on the Parliament to organize a two days orientation program for the executive to orient them on processes of the Parliament.
